Hopes for a summer release of the RealTouch are fading. In fact, looks like it will not be ready now until September or even late Fall.
Constant delays are frustrating to all of us who have been looking forward to the release of the RealTouch. After all, we have been kept waiting for over half a year now already. Yet I don’t think we should be too surprised or disheartened. We’re not talking about the release of a new porn film or even a new type of porn film. We’re talking about the introduction into society of genuine virtual sex. This is quite simply massive.
Richard Branson has been promising us trips into space for a while now. It was originally planned to take place last year but constant delays have made it unlikely that the first private trip into space will happen before 2011. I don’t see anyone giving up on the idea of commercial space travel yet or throwing rotting eggs at Sir Richard. People understand that it is a huge undertaking and things have to be just right. I would be as bold to compare RealTouch to Virgin Galactic and I would put the world’s first commercially successful virtual sex product on a par with the first commerical space flight. In both cases a new frontier from the realms of science fiction is being opened up and made real. You have to expect a few hiccups and dissapointments on the way.

The term should be removed from this blog, and only used in reference to the trademarked Product the “Virtual Sex Machine” found at “VirtualSexMachine.com.

I’m not going to challenge that if you can provide a link to some evidence that the phrase is copyrighted.
Personally though, it seems ridiculous. It’s like saying you could bulid a ‘time machine’, call it ‘the time machine’ copyright the phrase ‘the time machine’ and then sue the estate of H G Wells if they didn’t change the title of his novel and all references to the phrase ‘time machine’ within it.
Surely the phrase ‘virtual sex machine’ is generic and has been in use by science fiction writers and futurists for decades?
I don’t know the history between yourself and AEBN. Obviously this is a blog intended to promote RealTouch when it does eventually hit the market, and keep alive interest in it during the constant delays. I don’t mean to disrespect or demean your unique contribution to the virtual sex industry at all. It does seem however, that you are putting a spanner in the works of others who are trying to build the industry when you yourself are not seriously marketing your product. Are you actually selling your product? There is no way that any sane person would buy your virtual sex machine from your website. It really doesn’t seem to have been updated for years. In fact some of the gifs are missing. Any person who didn’t know otherwise would assume it is a ‘dead site’.
You asked me if I would volunteer to help re-design your website. Well I’m an affiliate marketeer with an interest in virtual sex and futurology and I only have a minimum knowledge of html and php. In fact I build most of my sites using wordpress which takes 1/2 and hour to do and which you could easily use in less than a day to turn your site into one in which at least looks as though is actually selling a live product.
As I said, if you can provide a link stating clearly that the phrase ‘virtual sex machine’ used in a generic context is copyrighted then I’ll remove the offending phrases as soon as possible (I’m on vacation right now). However, looking again at my post I can see why you object to the phrase ‘the world’s first virtual sex machine’ in description of the RealTouch. I will change that to ‘world’s first commerically successful virtual sex machine’.
