With the release of RealTouch looking (finally) to be imminant, I thought it might be interesting to ponder just what is riding on the successful release of the world’s first true virtual sex product.
If the RealTouch fails it will surely deter other companies from following in AEBN’s footsteps - for the time being at least. Virtual sex will arrive one day, but we will likely be old men before we get to experience all that it might have to offer.
On the other hand, if RealTouch is a commercial success it will open up the floodgates to virtual sex, both in terms of AEBN themselves pouring in cash to improve the RealTouch and widen its applications, and of course, for other companies to jump on the bandwagon and produce their own virtual sex products.
Personally, I think the RealTouch and with it, the whole concept of virtual sex in the 21st century, is going to be a huge success. AEBN have simply put too much money and development into this product for it not to live up to expectations. They, as an adult entertainment company, seem to be fully aware of what is at stake here. Furthermore, early reviews of the product have been highly encouraging.
So lets focus here on what the success of the RealTouch will mean to the nascent virtual sex industry. As has been said, it will likely trigger a flood of imitators together with rapid advances on the original product, similar to the impact that the launch of the iPod had on the portable music industry.
If there is a profit to be made from the demand for virtual sex, then the huge billion dollar adult entertainment industry will immediately rush to supply that demand.
We will quickly see a widening of of the applications and uses of the RealTouch and its inevitable future competitors. The use of the product is currently limited to its providing of simulated sex in conjunction with pre-recorded porn. An AEBN insider has already stated that work is underway on creating a way for the RealTouch to be used in live sex shows via webcam. In principle, one live webcam performer could have virtual sex with thousands. or even millions of RealTouch users around the world at the same time. And when that happens, the dictionary will have to find a new word that takes the concept of a ‘gang bang’ a few miles west.
The coding required for live virtual sex is on another level to that involved in a pre-recorded simulation. Nethertheless, the difference is one of time and effort rather than any huge technological barrier. If the RealTouch is a success, you can be sure that live virtual sex will follow shortly thereafter. In fact, the biggest hurdles that might have to be overcome will likely be legal (will virtual sex be considered to be the same thing as real sex, and if so, might live virtual sex shows be considered a form of prostitution?)
RealTouch is currently designed for male users only. When live virtual sex becomes a reality, we will see a female version that simulates for her what her male ‘partner’ is doing with his penis (and his RealTouch). We would see specialist chat rooms springing up enabling virtual sex fans to hook up with new partners. At this point, virtual sex would approach real sex in terms of enjoyment and, certainly, accessibility for most ordanary men and women. At this point the moral guardians and law makers will no doubt begin to get involved.
The actual physical design of the RealTouch will also go through many changes and improvements itself. No doubt, before long, the RealTouch will come with the ability to be inserted into a love doll. To take this line of speculation to its furthest edges, virtual sex will have reached completion when it is possible for the shape, texture and movements of that love doll to perfectly mimic those of the virtual sex partner you are making out with (or to mimic what either of you wants it to).
Incredibly, this will probably be with us in our lifetimes. Utilising the power of nano-technology, scientists are already building materials with manipulable shape changing properties. Once again, the barriers to the virtual sex dream being achieved are likely to be legal and moral rather than technological.
Virtual sex has arrived.

Hate to break the news, but a superior product is already available, and has been for several years.
The technology was invented by Virtual Reality Innovations, with their product: the Virtual Sex Machine. Everything else is just a poor knockoff.

I congratulate you on being a pioneer of virtual sex technology, but why does the site look like it hasn’t been updated since the 90′s?
@admin
We’re working on that.
We spent the time and money on the product….not a flashy website.
Are you volunteering to help?

So why haven’t I ever heard of the VSM? It looks like a giant salad shooter.
